SICKNESS AND ILLNESS POLICY REMINDER
Children suffering from sickness and diarrhoea must be clear for 48 hours before returning to nursery to reduce the spread of infection. If you do not do this, you put others at risk of becoming ill
If your child becomes sick or has diarrhoea at nursery, families will be contacted and advised to collect their child and they should remain at home until 48 hours clear of symptoms. Families will be contacted if children appear unwell or complain of being unwell (for any reason) and unable to cope with nursery. If your child is unwell at home and is unable to attend nursery, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible
NURSERY ARRIVAL AND COLLECTION TIMES
Unless you have been given different instructions from your child’s key worker – sessions are as follows
MORNING SESSION 8.00 am – 12 noon
AFTERNOON SESSION 1.00 pm – 5.00 pm
Collection time is at 12 noon for morning children and between 3.00 pm and 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm and 5.00 pm for afternoon children. We ask parents to be prompt as late collection impacts on the smooth running of nursery
LEARNING PLAN
Our current learning plan is about music, dance and drama. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words and dancing to music helps them to build motor skills and self-expression. Music helps strengthen memory skills as it activates both the left and right brain at the same time and the activation of both hemispheres can maximize learning and improve memory. Making music, dancing and drama encourages children to participate in group activities, express their emotions and develop their social skills. It can enhance understanding of different cultures, refine listening skills, create awareness of movement and body positions and develop creativity and imagination
We hope that, by the end of the plan, children will be able to
- Explore their emotions through music, dance and drama
- Listen well and follow instructions
- Be creative and imaginative
- Learn what it means to rhyme, identify a rhyming pair and create their own rhymes
- Use mathematical language such as slow/fast and recognise and sequence patterns
- Know about Easter and Spring
Our full learning plan is on our Webpage (address below) where you will see our specific focus for Health and Wellbeing, Literacy and Numeracy and our Seasonal, Cultural or Festive Focus
SANDSHOES
Please make sure that your child has a pair of soft sandshoes to change into at nursery. Some children are wearing heavy outdoor shoes, boots or wellies which are not appropriate inside footwear as they can cause injury to other children
